Shortcodes on templates

Can I include a shortcode in the digest email body, or the other emails (topics and replies)?

I’m not overriding the PHP templates, simply editing the code in the Diget, Topics and Replies tab.

What kind of shortcode do you have in mind? What kind of scenario? It may make sense for me to add the solution to bbPress Notify (No-Spam).

We have an add rotator plugin that inserts random ads using a shortcode. So basically, we want those ads inserted into the emails.

Ok, I’ll add a do_shortcode call to the message body before being sent. However, please make sure that the ad plugin does not depend on non-inline styles or the email clients will start having trouble displaying the emails.
