Do I need the Private Groups Bridge addon?

Hi,
I’m wondering if I need the Private Groups bridge add-on. I am using that plugin, but I do not have anything automatically going out to subscribers.

A subscriber can only see the forums to which they have access to, so they are only able to subscribe to those forums/digests.

I’m thinking I don’t need this plugin because I am not automatically subscribing users to any new posts or topics. Is that correct?

That’s right, you don’t need the bridge. You would if you decided to select some roles to notify under Settings > Forums > Email Notifications. Then the bridge would filter out those people in the selected roles that do not have access to the new topic or reply being notified.
