Hi Vinny,

In the new topic email, there is the shortcode “topic-url” that returns something like: http://mywebsite/?bbpnns-pgb-gateway=1&redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fmywebsite%2Fconversations%2Ftopic%2Fnew-topic-2%2F

This is great because the user is redirected to the login page and then after they log in go straight to the topic.

I expcted that when I used the same shortocde in the new reply email I would get the same thing, but instead I only got:
topic-url: http://employersforumindiana.org/conversations/topic/new-topic-2/

This is a problem, because the user goes to a 404 page instead of being redirected to my login page.

While the shortcode reply-url could send the user to the reply, I need them to go to the topic instead of just the reply.

Hi Julie,

Thanks for bringing this up. This is a missed feature from the time bbpnns didn’t have support for [topic-url] when processing replies. I started the fix but realized it’s not as simple as I originally thought.

Hi Julie,

It turns out that the bug was actually in the free bbpnns plugin that gets extended by these add-ons. Please update your copy to version 1.15.5 and the problem will be fixed.

I see in the documentation for the digests “the reply link no longer points to the page with the standalone reply. Instead, it points to the topic page, with the reply ID in the fragment..”

Is it possible to change the link to the format, http://mywebsite/?bbpnns-pgb-gateway=1&redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Fmywebsite%2Fconversations%2Ftopic%2Fnew-topic-2%2F%23post-123

instead of just http://employersforumindiana.org/conversations/topic/new-topic-2/#post-123?

I’m now passing the URLs through the ‘bbpnns_topic_url’ filter, which the Private Groups Bridge uses to munge the link.

It should be good now.

Not sure when this happened, but the Topic URLs in the digest aren’t working. Looks like the ‘redirect to site’ portion got repeated and kind of mangled

Yes, new topic email and reply now working as expected.

No I’m back to a problem with the new topic URL in the digest email

I’m expecting it to be:
http://employersforumindiana.org/?bbpnns-pgb-gateway=1&redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Femployersforumindiana.org%2Fconversations%2Ftopic%2Fmytopic%2F

but instead it is:
http://employersforumindiana.org/?bbpnns-pgb-gateway=1&redirect_to=http%3A%2F%2Femployersforumindiana.org%2F
